Ford’s twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that puts out 365 and probably more efficient, although I love the additional power this new Penstar makes, Jeep is still way behind in the HP wars and economy that ford has, maybe Jeep will make something more competitive soon? Then again Jeep makes the best off road vehicle ever, I do want a 2012 regardless of the lack of economy and power.

Man this guy is so fucking boring

Dragovich. Kravchenko. Steiner. All Must die says:

Why would anyone want a manual transmission in a jeep? It is a jeep not a sports car.

quadzilla26b says:

what a fucking dumb cunt, whats with the dumb ass questions? i bet u did not know what he was talking about when he was on about ratios…

gotgears3444 says:

needs a diesel

cdh731 says:

@Syrius187 The previous 3.8 V6 had 202 HP and 237 Lb-Ft of Torque…..The new Pentastar 3.6 V6 in the 2012 Wrangler puts out 285 HP and 260 Lb-Ft of Torque so and improvement of 83 HP and 23 Lb-Ft of Torque…..Not bad in my book.

@sonbuhitsunei Well, first a manual trans is typicaly more durable than an auto, gets better fuel economy and, is a better car for people who know how to get the most performance from a vehicle. I have been a commercial motor vehicle instructor in the past, and now just drive. I dont find 18 gears all that difficult to master. I honestly think autos are for people who are too dumb to learn or too lazy to master driving. Impo. Its just too easy to teach “mash on the throttle to go”

dobbins2550 says:

About time, much stronger engine and better transmission. Do want. 😉

Rodrigo y Cristel says:

@Shabbernigdo , thanks for you answer. I live in Chile, already have a 2007 Wrangler Rubicon Unltd. but with the mods. the poor efficient V6 3.8 is just not enough, other people have the 2.8 diesel sahara with much better results. I don`t know why Chrysler don`t sale here the Rubicon diesel as they do in Europe, I’m looking for the possibility of buying a new diedel one and change the equipment (including axles !!) from my Rubicon.

3igmack says:

@prettymuchright Do you have insider knowledge on the more powerful motors coming to Jeep? I would be very exited to get one of those more powerful motors, that beats the 260hp by a lot.thanks.

adsabine1 says:

@alnebular As long as the torque curve is good, I have heard that the Ford 3.5 ecoboost has a flat torque curve, the advantages are a lighter engine, better power to weight…Better economy and more power, sign me up, traditionally I would agree with you because turbos used to be peaky, not a direct injection motor, maybe I am wrong? Anyone with a lot of knowledge here?

Bad Tux says:

True dat, but everybody I know with a VW TDI also has outrageous maintenance expenses, it’s cheaper overall to buy a small car with a gas engine than a VW TDI despite the lower mpg. Our diesel fuel here in the USA sucks and eats fuel pumps and injectors like mad.

Jonathan McCracken says:

Additional torque???? Doesn’t the 2012 wrangler have more HP but the same torque as previous years?

W0W0S says:

It’s 2.8l. And sounds really horrible…

deepak sharma says:

so if i sleep, it wakes me up unfortunately I want something that can sing lullaby when i went to sleep !!

Bad Tux says:

Diesels are outrageously expensive to maintain. Everybody I know with a diesel pickup spends more extra on maintenance than I spend extra on gas.

Boyet Rivas says:

this looks like a Philippine made wrangler ..it looks an old design

MrXeqtrIsHere says:

its 2.8 crd not 2.4

MF11283 says:

everyone says that, I feel that way to some extent, however A things do need to evolve or they wont sell any new ones, more people who would otherwise buy a new one will buy a used truck, and b you can thank the EPA also

05front says:

This was a long awaited engine.

kevin dixon says:

buying a new Rubicon in April and I cant wait

fasthonda says:

I want

Al G says:

@adsabine1 Do you really want twin turbos in an offroad vehicle?
On the road, I agree, but off road, I think not.

Al G says:

Not true, My 2012 Wrangler Sport S with a lot of options was $25k.

Jormund Tommash says:

sounds like everybody you know have a ford 6.0 😉

thedefinitive says:

I want.

PigHandButtah says:

@mahatmacoatmahandbag and 80more horse power and 85 pounds more torque
