Chevrolet FNR Concept: Autonomous Electric Car – Shanghai 2015. GM’s Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) developed the design, which is meant to preview a future where personal transportation doesn’t rely on gasoline or drivers. The FNR is an electric car that uses crystal laser headlights and taillights. It also has hubless electric wheel motors. GM acknowledged that its newest concept ventures into that territory, and with more than just the wheel design. The Chevrolet-FNR Concept also uses sensors and roof-mounted radar that detect its immediate surroundings to map them out, making autonomous driving possible. It also has an automatic charging feature and iris recognition ignition.
