With a total system output of 230 kW/313 hp generated by a four-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and a synchronous electric motor, the BMW X5 xDrive40e completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds. Alternatively, the MAX eDrive mode can be engaged, enabling the BMW X5 xDrive40e to run purely on electric power – when driving in urban traffic for instance – resulting in zero local emissions. When the high-voltage battery is fully charged, the vehicle has a range of up to 31 kilometres (approx. 19 miles) in the all-electric drive mode with a limited maximum speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).

Another disappointing ev range from the Germans, can’t seem to match Outlander 50Km benchmark. Also seems to have missed the lesson learned by GM with the Volt users wanting more EV range. 30Km just to get round carbon based tax, not to benefit their customer’s operating cost.

electric charging door on the car is poorly design in my opinion, any body can unplugged your car and tamper with it. You are ok in your home but not in public place. Can you design so the plug is locked and no one can pull it out. Also door will need to be design so it is not hanging of the car , you can design something so it is integrated in the car body, tnx

Habe mal eine Frage, da ich diesen Begriff letztens immer wieder sehe. Ich rede von “Plug-In-Hybrid”. Sagt ja eigentlich schon der Name und wurde hier auch nochmal etwas erklärt, aber nicht dass ich da ein falsches Bild habe. Ist Plug-In-Hybrid quasi so ein ich nenne es mal “Werbespruch” wie z.B. bei Mercedes immer 4Matic für Allrad steht? Nur dass es in diesem Fall ganz einfach heißt Hybrid also Verbrennungs+Elektromotor?
