Car Tech – Lexus RX hybrid quietly persists

The luxury hybrid SUV hasn’t changed much since its debut almost a decade ago, but maybe the quiet and refined 2014 Lexus RX 450h doesn’t have to.

bring back brian cooley

Jin says:

OK this guy is not bad.

LSV says:

the dash look like a +TOYOTA Venza dash

Sean Mangubat says:

It’s ok, but for about the same amount of money, I would rather have the Audi Q5 TDI or Mercedes-Benz GLK250 Bluetec.

Felix says:

Good job. Kid is learning and becoming more fluid with his reviews. Cooley is still the best, but hey… Gotta recognize progress. At least he’s MILES better than that other guy with the plaid sport coats!!

Kaelin Curtsinger says:

My 2006 lexus is has a touchscreen…

Zanfindel says:

…ugly is included at no extra cost…

Scott K says:

This new guy is OK but I miss Brian.

Dan C says:

God that interior is ugly. I wouldn’t consider that car for any price over 40k. And for 62k, I’d just buy a Mercedes. The only Lexus I MIGHT consider for over 60 is the LS.

eEvangeliste says:

I feel VERY bad for Antwan… Good review. BUT I NEED BRIAN COOLEYYYYYYH

Adil Mustafa says:

Bring Cooley back 😐

Eugene M. says:

I liked rap at the beginning of the video and at the end! lol

MrHarlemworld says:

Moses Jonson says:

Na Vi says:

Beat it human

Grimlock1973 says:

This guy is ok but he is so damn monotone! I almost fell asleep listening to this guy talk and dribble on about the lexus.

LuBano says:

Antuan > Cooley

basketball798 says:

Cooley! Cooley!! Cooley!

Joe Calvert says:

Hi

It’s not his fault that Brian set the bar for auto reviews so high. He’s good, but not Cooley. You can’t keep trying to compare them. I’d rather have him do all the auto reviews and let Cooley focus on the On cars episodes since this guy is a bit more informative and less opinionated (which should help those who are seriously interested in this car)

planedudea380 says:

good review

PillCosby says:

cnet reviews are the best.

toyotaprius79 says:

“Planetary gear”. Now that’s impressive. Rarely have I seen any review that noted the proper transmission of Toyota’s hybrids. I’ve always heard of a CVT in a Prius or Lexus hybrid, that’s not exactly accurate (CVT pun) and that doesn’t cut it.

David C Schlesinger says:

Please don’t ask where Brian is. CNET is probably not going to answer that question. I am sure he is around…just not in this video. He could be working on the next episode of CNET on Cars for next weekend.

Jin says:

OK this guy is not bad.

Na Vi says:

You’re no Brian Cooley pal…

John Thomas says:

The cnet icon in the top right corner blocks what the specs of the engine when I’m watching this video.

Off to Kfc says:

watching the review without cooley hosting its kinda bording.

Fidel Dennis says:

Great review.

Shahaan501 says:

Cooooley?????

Lennox1492 says:

The RX has been redesigned 2 times already, why is he saying it hasn’t changed in 10 years? The 1st gen looked like the RX330 with the second like the 350.

Pay attention and know your product!!!

Kamaka Chang says:

If I were in this market I’d also consider the German diesels. I can’t believe how popular the RX still is, just shows quality and simple sells.

devon parris says:

Brian or nahhhh
