2016 Vauxhall Astra (Opel Astra) 1.6 CDTI Review – Inside Lane

The all-new Vauxhall Astra 1.6 CDTI takes the fight to key rivals such as the Ford Focus. With an increase in quality, technology, and driving dynamics, this generation promises much. Powered by a 134BHP Whisper CDTI diesel engine, the 2015 Vauxhall Astra is very quiet indeed. Over 72MPG is claimed.

Car of the Year 2016

Gentle Brother says:

I guarantee that the unfortunate owners of these cars will be spending lots of time using the ‘OnStar’ service trying to establish why their shiny new pile of junk isn’t working.

thejamieharper says:

So, a little update. I have owned the car now for just under 2 weeks and it’s absolutely fantastic so far. There are a few irritating bits about the car, for example; every time I switch the ignition on, the car starts beeping and screeching at me for a good 2 minutes and the steering wheel is a bit uncomfortable on the hands, especially on long drives. I absolutely adore my Astra, probably my favourite car that I have owned and I have had the likes of the Golf, Focus, 1 series… I have the 1.4Turbo SRI and it cost just shy of 20 grand, but I genuinely believe that it’s worth it, 100%. If anyone is looking for a family hatch back that is child friendly then I would recommend the Astra. The WIFI is superb with the onstar system and the 1.4 Engine is cracking, lots of power and torque to play with!

SuperWHIZZO says:

And as for those filthhhhhy Wolfsburgians with their car that rhymes with Harris`s christian name ,,,,,,,,, maybe this car with its built-in International Rescue link , can at last prevail as the compact car of damasses .

thejamieharper says:

I’m in motion of ordering the 1.4 turbo SRI, genuinely can’t wait to get the car because It will be the first Vauxhall I have had since I passed my driving test 7 years ago, hearing the quality and the driving experience has massively improved.

Arron Somerville says:

this exact version of this car,i have done 671 miles the car is pretty nice but i dont like the traction control as it just seems to wheelspin too easily in the wet

Stuart Crane says:

In this day and age serious reviewers mention the real world economy during the test….Come on guys tell us the truth not just what the company lie is! Also we all know Fords and Vauxhalls don’t hold their value so say so! Apart from those comments a good review.
