2017 Peugeot 2008 news: SUV gets refreshed look and updated features for new model year
Peugeot has given its 2008 SUV a refreshed look and updated features for the 2017 model year. The 2017 Peugeot 2008 comes with a more powerful design and several new features that make it an alluring choice for a compact crossover.
The 2017 Peugeot 2008 comes with a sharper and more aggressive design. It features a new vertical front grille with the Peugeot lion at the center. The dynamic design of the grille also extends on to the hood and the roof, giving it a striking silhouette. The new 2008 SUV also comes with more pronounced wheel arches and scuff plates.
Peugeot has also given the new 2008 more elegant lighting. The black and chrome headlamps come with a feline-like design. At the rear, there are 3D LED taillights with a lion-claw design.
The 2017 Peugeot 2008 is showcased in a new Ultimate Red exterior paint color. It will also be available in a new Emerald color, along with nine other color choices. Peugeot also announced that the new GT Line model will be joining the three other trim levels – Access, Active and Allure. The GT Line trim will give the 2008 SUV a sportier look with a red and black color scheme.
Inside the SUV, interiors are very high-tech and luxurious. The cabin features Peugeot’s i-Cockpit design for a safe, agile and intuitive driving experience. Some of the interior features include the 7-inch MirrorScreen infotainment system with MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a head-up instrument panel and a compact sports steering wheel. Higher trims receive leather-trimmed components including the steering wheel, gear stick surround, handbrake lever and door armrests.
The 2017 Peugeot 2008 SUV also comes with new safety and driver-assistive technologies like a reversing camera, active city brake and park assist. The crossover was also equipped with Grip Control, an adapted traction system for low grip conditions. This feature allows the 2008 SUV to be versatile and handle all types of terrain. Grip Control is mated with 17-inch alloy wheels with Goodyear Vector4Season tires.
The 2017 Peugeot 2008 is powered by four Euro6 engines with best-in-class performance. It is offered with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech 82 petrol engine that can be engineered to deliver between 82 to 129 horsepower. It is also offered with a 1.6-liter BlueHDI diesel engine with power output ranging from 75 to 120 horsepower. The engines have the option of being mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, five-speed manual transmission and a six-speed manual transmission.
