// CA Requiring Solar on New Homes, Tesla Going to Dominate?

* Quantum leap forward for renewable in CA
* Almost all new homes (exceptions where it doesn’t work)
* The new policy applies to single-family houses and multifamily units that are three stories or less, and there are some exceptions for homes that are too shady.
* Part of Gov Brown’s plan to reduce carbon emissions by 40% (but he’s retiring)

* Will Tesla dominate? Not likely…
* They don’t make a ton of solar yet, still ramping up in Buffalo with Panasonic
* New solar roof could be a boon but cost could curtail it’s adoption

* Could increase home prices, which is bad, but in the long-run it’ll be better

James B says:

Does anybody know if the all-wheel drive model 3 will be the standard battery or the long range?

Marcus M says:

No mirrors has been done so many times and they always come on when it’s time to ship because of legal trouble.

Stop Motion Gags says:

1st comment! Thanks for making sense of Elon!

jason granovsky says:

Do you think charging prices are going to reach gas prices soon?

Gabriel Vargas says:

I remember that you said that you don’t believe on the Boring Company. did you change your mind?

Cloxxki says:

…how much we believe in Elon, our leader.
Culttime is over. This is a full on sect!

tecnocato says:

In the Tesla video:
• It is not the Model Y, I suspect because 1) it matches the Model 3 perfectly and 2) completes the story behind the video that shows the Model 3 development.
• All Model 3 cars in the reveal were AWD with 20 in rims.
• Yes, some solar works were here in Puerto Rico. 🙂

About your question: Do it! You want to. We want the P but ouch! Let’s hope for $20K (or less?) for AWD + P. Elon does like to give hardcore smackdowns to gasoline cars.

Donovan says:

Wondering if the performance Model 3 will be only dual motor or the option for RWD also…..

Jackson Lawrence says:

Aren’t you looking at US car sales whereas the Model 3 Production is for worldwide sale?

Martin Giroux says:

Wouldn’t you get the $7500 tax credit if you got the performance car?

Buddy308 says:

Ben, you’re a professional data analyst. What sense does it make to calculate a monthly payment on a performance M3 to the nearest dollar? You do NOT have 4 significant figures to work with. Keep it real.

HaroldRBD says:

Do you speak Spanish, you learn in spin right, paisanos????

Donny Tucker says:

Great episode Ben. You should get the performance version, that’s if your wife lets you haha.

L Kendrix says:

YES! Do it! You only live once! Tomorrow is not promised! When you leave here you’ll take nothing with you! Your son will cherish that car!

jason granovsky says:

I think that there are going to be mirrors, because what I have noticed is that the model x and semi prototypes didn’t have mirrors then they got put in for the production model.

larry Spiller says:

Getting the performance model would also certainly bring more subscribers to the channel so I’d think of it as growing the channel. Sure you could not and continue on just fine but being at the bleeding edge is worth it

Skylar Parks says:

SaGaPhoto_de - Samuel Gall says:

I think the performance model3 will officially make 3.5s 0-60mph and will be about 7.000$ cheaper than you calculated 😉 Looking forward to get the numbers 🙂

Jeremiah John says:

I’d be surprised if they were willing to make the model 3 as fast as a performance model s, that would really undercut it’s value.

Mike Harvey says:

Ha thought it was you in the Tesla video
