VW Golf R Concept Previews Next-Gen Interface, Gesture Controls

Within a few years, Volkswagen is showing future features—including this—in a special concept for the Consumer Electronics Show, held this week in Las Vegas. The concept, which is based on the high-performance 2016 Volkswagen Golf R, and officially called the Volkswagen Golf R Touch concept vehicle, shows a next-generation infotainment display that uses 3D gesture control. The Golf R Touch’s infotainment system actually combines three different displays: a huge 12.8-inch infotainment system touch screen, an 8-inch Control Center touch screen with feedback, located just beneath it, and an Active Info Display that functions as an instrument cluster, among other things.
